DIY 3D Paper Ornaments with the Canon PIXMA TS5320 Printer

This post is sponsored by Canon.

Around this time last year I was visiting Stockholm which was an amazing time to go because the city was filled with signs of Christmas. I had come across some beautiful paper and honeycomb ornaments at a shop and talked myself out of getting them because I was short on room in my luggage, and I’ve regretted it since. As I’ve started decorating our home for Christmas this year, the memory of those paper ornaments came top of mind and it became mandatory that I make my own version of them.

These 3D paper ornaments are simple to put together, very customizable, and shatterproof so they’ll last year after year as long as you store them well. Read on for the tutorial, and get the paper template downloads at the end provided in partnership with Canon!

An Update on What’s Going On At The House Part One: Drywall and Paint

We had a limited amount of time before we moved in to get some work done on the house, meaning we prioritized tasks that would be more convenient to do while none of our stuff was there yet, like painting. What seemed like a small task ended up being not small at all and is still going on today (we are estimated to finish this “pre-move-in” work by mid-end of November, which increases our original time estimate of 2 weeks up to 8-10 weeks!) It has been our first and thorough lesson on how projects can grow, complications happen, and budgets and timelines are merely suggestions.

We Bought a House!

Our two year journey has ended (or is just beginning??) with the past 1-2 months being nuts in preparation for our move and wrought with feelings ranging from doubt to excitement- fear that something might backfire and fall through and this was all a joke and we didn’t actually get the house, and joy that this dream of ours is finally happening.

When our offer was accepted, I didn’t have much of a reaction. For a while it didn’t feel real, not until we got the keys and even now a small part of me doesn’t think this is actually happening. Slowly, then very suddenly, my emotions rained and I wanted to share about what buying our first house was like, and how much it means to us.

Living Room Refresh with Amazon Home: Reveal

This post is sponsored by Amazon Home.

It has always been my dream to create an entirely white living room, something that would feel like I’m floating in a cloud, but with all of my favorite stuff in it. I have a great fascination with monochrome spaces and it’s a design style that comes with challenges, but it creates what I consider the most visually calming space that has the power to put me at ease under any circumstance, which is the way I want to feel at all times when I’m at home. Thankfully Amazon Home was the perfect partner to make this redesign happen with their wide array of home decor across all styles, certainly including mine!
